It can be hard to get pumped up enough to actually decide you want to get exercise, but these days fitness is becoming more affordable, more accessible and more fun than it’s ever been! After all, you might as well get in shape to benefit your overall health and to avoid injury. To help you decide which workout you should do, here’s a list of 2012’s hottest workouts.
Trendy Workouts of 2012
High-Intensity Workouts and DVDs
Workouts like P90X and Insanity can be done in the comfort of your own home and on your own schedule, so they are super convenient. But these are incredibly intense workouts, so unless you’re super motivated and know how to adjust the intensity to suit your own fitness level, you may need to look for a different workout.
Tabata Training
Tabata consists of high intensity intervals for 20 seconds, followed by 10 seconds of rest, repeated for 8 sets, or a total of 4 minutes. This short workout is good if you lack time to go to the gym, but it’s not recommended for beginners or those who aren’t already in decent shape.
Small Group Training
There are plenty of boot-camp style classes that are fun and energetic and take place in an environment that provides motivation and camaraderie. Small group training is also more affordable for those who want instruction without the cost of one-on-one personal training.
Workout Accessories
There are a lot of unique training accessories that you can add to your workout, such as TRX Suspension Trainer and Rip Trainer, battling ropes, kettlebells and ViPR are all great options. Any of these will add fun and intensity to your workouts.
