In order to make sure your feet aren’t smelly, you need to keep up a high level of hygiene – this means more than just washing your feet. Here are some things that will help you out on your journey to odorless feet.
Tips for Curing Foot Odor
- Change your socks regularly – don’t wear socks that aren’t clean!
- Place odor eaters inside of your shoes. This works much better than antiperspirant on dirty feet – that just covers the odor rather than eliminates it.
- Soak your feet in strong black tea for half an hour every day for a week. The tannic acid in the tea destroys bacteria and closes the pores, which keeps the feet dry longer.
- Sprinkle talcum powder all over the feet or dust them with baking soda to reduce heavy sweating. You should also soak your feet in 1 part vinegar and 2 parts water.
- Mix two tablespoons of Epsom salts in two quarts of warm water to freshen up your feet.
- Throw out any shoes that have an odor you cant get rid of.
- Stay away from plastic shoes.
- Rub alcohol on your feet after you shower.
- Try placing dryer sheets in each of your shoes. It will help cover the smell, but not help eliminate it.
- You may even want to try soaking your feet in mouthwash.
