Blood clots are known in the medical world as primary thrombocythemia. These may sound harmless but in reality can be fatal. If you are experiencing any of the following symptoms, you should immediately contact a doctor.
- Throbbing Pain
When blood vessels in the feet are blocked by a blood clot it can result in throbbing pain while not showing any visible signs of bruising or abnormality.
- Numbness
Blood clots in your feet can cause the foot in question to be numb. This may or may not be accompanied by the affected foot turning red or even purple.
- Nausea
Believe it or not a blood clot in your foot can actually cause nausea. It can be severe enough to cause vomiting. This symptom in and of itself is not indicative of a blood clot in your foot and should be considered not a symptom at all unless it is accompanied by one or more of the other symptoms listed here.
- Syncope
Syncope is basically the term for light-headedness followed by fainting or passing out. This may be an indicator of a blood clot in the foot or indeed many other medical conditions. If you experience this in conjunction with the throbbing or numbness then you should call your doctor immediately.
Please know that these are only a few symptoms but you should not take a blood clot in the foot lightly. This is a very crucial thing and as such should be treated as urgently as possible. If you have experienced one or more of these symptoms seek help now.
