…if you had $93,000, what would you spend it on? There are so many things you could do with that much money, but one crazy person decided that they absolutely had to spend that money on, you guessed it, SHOES.
I am talking about a pair of Nike Air Yeezy II, sneakers that were designed by Kanye West. Apparently some wild soul decided to buy these soles off of eBay for nearly $100,000! These sneakers were set for limited release and are highly anticipated. But guess what? Bids on eBay for other pairs of the exact same shoes are going for $3,000 or less. That’s a fact that’s hard to ignore.
Basketball shoes selling for that kind of money isn’t exactly something new, though. Limited edition silver Air Jordan’s sold for a whopping $60,000 in June 2011 on eBay and a pair of diamond studded Nike Air Force 1s sold for $50,000. Prices like these, though, almost seem like a bargain compared to some ladies’ shoes. At the 2004 Oscars, Allison Krauss wore a pair of Stuart Weitzman Cinderella Slippers; theyare worth an estimated $2 million.
Kanye West actually designed a pair of high-end heels. These shoes were designed for Giuseppe Zanotti and were sold for $5,887 at a French boutique.
Can you imagine spending so much money on something you’ll just stick your feet in and walk all over? Then again, do you see how beautiful these shoes are?
